Born on August 24, 1969, Justice Ahuja graduated in Science from Jai Hind College, Mumbai, in 1989. He pursued law at Government Law College, Mumbai, and after completing his LL.B, he enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa in August 1992. He further obtained a Masters in Commercial Laws (LL.M) from the University Department of Law, University of Mumbai, in 1994.
Justice Ahuja qualified as a Solicitor in India in 1995, as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales in 1999, and as an Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India in 2000. His practice primarily focused on commercial, corporate, property, and taxation laws. He has represented and advised the Government, its departments, PSUs, banks, corporates, and individuals in matters before the Supreme Court, Bombay High Court, Delhi High Court, and various other tribunals and courts in India.
Justice Ahuja was appointed as Senior Standing Counsel by the Income Tax Department in 2008, as Senior Panel Counsel, Group I, by the Government of India in 2015, and as Senior Panel Counsel by the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Board of India in 2018. He represented the government in numerous significant matters until his elevation as a Judge of the Bombay High Court on March 4, 2020.
