Justice Anil Kumar Choudhary is an esteemed judge at the High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi, with a rich and varied background in judicial service.
Born on 18th June 1965 in Rourkela, Odisha, Justice Anil Kumar Choudhary passed matriculation in First Class from the Board of Secondary Education. He earned a B.Sc. with distinction from Government College, Rourkela, and an LL.B in 1988 from Rourkela Law College. He also holds an M.A. in History with first class honors.
Justice Choudhary began his career by joining the chambers of Harish Ray, a leading practitioner in Rourkela. He also appeared in the Orissa High Court and was a life member of the High Court Bar Association, Orissa. He served as a panel advocate for Life Insurance Corporation of India, Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, and Bank of Baroda.
He joined the Superior Judicial Service and was posted as Additional District Judge at Tenughat and Rajmahal. He also served as Additional Judicial Commissioner No. 1, Ranchi, and as Special Judge, CBI (AHD Scam Cases). He was the Presiding Officer of the Labour Court, Hazaribag, Principal Judge of the Family Court, Jamshedpur, and Principal District Judge of Godda and Bokaro. Additionally, he held the positions of Registrar Establishment and Registrar General.
He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi, w.e.f. 20th May 2017 and took oath as Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi, on 26th April 2019.
