The Hon'ble Justice Aniruddha Roy

Justice Aniruddha Roy, a respected figure in the Calcutta High Court, brings a wealth of experience in corporate law, arbitration, and constitutional matters to the bench. Born in Kolkata in October 1969, Justice Roy's early education at the Hindu School paved the way for his legal studies at Calcutta University's Department of Law, Hazra Campus, where he completed the 5-year law course. Enrolling in the West Bengal Bar Council in 1995, he began his practice before the Calcutta High Court, focusing on both Original and Appellate Sides. His expertise spanned company and corporate laws, arbitration, banking and debt recovery laws, as well as constitutional and civil matters. Justice Roy's legal acumen extended beyond the Calcutta High Court, with regular appearances before other High Courts, tribunals, and the Supreme Court of India. His elevation to the bench of the High Court at Calcutta as an Additional Judge on May 05, 2020, marked a significant milestone in his career. He was appointed as Permanent Judge of the High Court at Calcutta on 17.01.2022.
