Biography

Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma began his judicial career in 1992 with the Delhi Judicial Service and advanced to the Delhi Higher Judicial Service in 2003. He enhanced his expertise through a Conflict Management course at the University of Oxford, London, while serving as a Presenting Officer with the National Human Rights Commission.

Throughout his career, he has presided over various courts, contributing significantly as Secretary of the Delhi High Court Legal Service Committee, Director (Academics) at the Delhi Judicial Academy, Registrar (Vigilance), Registrar General of the Delhi High Court, and Principal District & Sessions Judge, New Delhi. A Fellow of the Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, he also served as a Mediator and Mediation Trainer with the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee of the Supreme Court of India.

He was deeply involved in the Vulnerable Witness Deposition Complex program, contributing to the drafting of the Vulnerable Witness Guidelines of the Delhi High Court and training stakeholders since the program's inception in 2010. He was appointed as Judge, High Court of Delhi on February 28, 2022, and later transferred to Calcutta High Court, taking oath on April 7, 2025.
