A distinguished member of the Bombay High Court, Justice G. S. Kulkarni has a long and respected career marked by extensive legal practice and contributions.
Born on 24th June 1968, Justice Kulkarni was enrolled as an Advocate on 23rd September 1992 with the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa. He appeared on the Original Side and the Appellate Side of the Bombay High Court in matters involving Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Company Law, Customs, Excise, Service Law, PILs, and litigation under various Central and State Acts.
Since 1998, he represented the Government of India before the Bombay High Court and, since November 2009, was appointed as a Special Counsel to represent the Government of India. He was appointed as “Standing Counsel” for Union Territory, Administration of Daman, Diu, and Dadra Nagar Haveli for the Bombay High Court and was also a Counsel for the University of Pune. In 2005, he was appointed by the Government of India as Counsel for U.T. Administration of Daman & Diu to represent the Union Territory Administration in the Commission of Inquiry in the collapse of Daman Ganga Bridge. Justice Kulkarni has represented various Public Sector Undertakings and Educational Institutions on issues arising under various laws. Elevated as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court on 6th January 2014 and confirmed as Permanent Judge on 2nd March 2016.
