Justice Mukta Gupta, a distinguished figure in the Delhi High Court, dedicated over three decades to the Indian judicial system.

Born on June 28th, 1961, Justice Mukta Gupta completed her schooling at Montfort School. She graduated with a B.Sc. in Zoology (Hons.) from Hindu College, Delhi University, in 1980, and later obtained her LL.B from Campus Law Centre in 1983. Enrolling with the Delhi Bar Council in 1984, she practiced civil, criminal, constitutional, and service law. In January 1993, she was appointed Additional Public Prosecutor in the Delhi High Court, followed by her appointment as Standing Counsel (Criminal) for the Government of NCT of Delhi in August 2001.

Justice Gupta has conducted numerous high-profile criminal cases, including the Parliament and Red Fort shootout cases, the Jessica Lal murder case, the Naina Sahni murder case, and the Nitish Katara murder case in both the High Court and Supreme Court. She also served as counsel for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and as Special Counsel for the CBI in cases such as the Naval war room leak case, the Priyadarshini Matoo murder case, and the Madhumita Sharma murder case.

She was also a member of the Delhi Legal Services Authority and was associated with rehabilitation programs for destitute women, juveniles, and prisoners.
