Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre, a distinguished member of the Delhi High Court since July 21, 2025, brings a wealth of experience from his extensive career in the Bombay High Court. His journey reflects a commitment to justice, legal scholarship, and public service.
Born on December 19, 1967, in Nagpur, Justice Sambre completed his schooling at Somalwar High School and obtained a B.Com degree from Shivaji Science College. He then earned his LL.B. from the University College of Law, Nagpur, in 1992.
Enrolled as an Advocate on August 25, 1992, Justice Sambre practiced civil, writ, and criminal matters across all three Benches of the Bombay High Court. He served as Secretary of the High Court Bar Association, Nagpur, from 2004 to 2007, and as Government Pleader and Public Prosecutor from September 1, 2007. He also represented Corporate Houses and Statutory Bodies like Bharat Petroleum, Indian Oil, BHEL, Municipal Councils, Tata Sons, and Godrej.
Elevated as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court on January 6, 2014, he became a Permanent Judge on March 2, 2016. He also served as Chairman of the Bombay High Court Legal Services Sub-Committee, Nagpur Bench; Member of the Governing Council of the State Judicial Academy; Chairman of the Executive Council of Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur; and an active member of the Judicial Officers’ Welfare Committee.
