Early Life and Education

Born on 4th December 1957, Justice Gauba, son of an Army family received his education at various Kendriya Vidyalayas. He graduated from Osmania University, Hyderabad, and obtained his LL.B from Jabalpur University.

Judicial Career

Justice Gauba began his judicial career in the Madhya Pradesh Judicial Service on 24th November 1981. Subsequently, he joined the Delhi Judicial Service on 19th August 1983, presiding over various courts. He was promoted to the Delhi Higher Judicial Service on 20th November 1997, where he served in multiple jurisdictions, including as Special Judge for NDPS and anti-corruption cases.

He also served as Chief Metropolitan Magistrate for Delhi during 1998-2000 and held positions in the MACT, Sessions Court, and matrimonial cases. He was the Registrar Vigilance at Delhi High Court and Supreme Court during 2005-2010 and served on deputation with the 1st Central Review Committee under POTA.

Justice Gauba was elevated to the High Court as an Additional Judge on 15th December 2014 and became a permanent Judge of the Delhi High Court on 02nd June 2016. He retired on 03rd December 2019.
