A respected member of the Bombay High Court, Justice Sanjay A. Deshmukh brings a wealth of experience from his diverse legal background.
Born on May 12, 1967, in Kodoli, Justice Deshmukh completed his primary and secondary education in Satara. He earned a B.A.(Hons) from L.B.S. College Satara and an LL.B. from IMLC College, Satara, ranking in Shivaji University, Kolhapur. He further completed an LL.M. from New Law College, Pune.
Justice Deshmukh joined the Bar in July 1993, practicing in the Satara District Court. Selected as a District Judge directly from the Bar, he served in various capacities, including as a Special Judge (MCOCA and NIA) at City Civil Court, Bombay, and as a Principal District and Sessions Judge in Bhandara and Pune. He also served as Secretary and Senior Legal Advisor to the Government of Maharashtra, Law and Judiciary Department. Justice Deshmukh was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court effective October 7, 2022.
