Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi serves on the Jharkhand High Court, bringing extensive experience in constitutional, civil, criminal, and service law to the bench. His career reflects a dedication to upholding justice and the rule of law.
Born on November 3, 1965, to Late Sushil Kumar Dwivedi and Smt. Manorma Dwivedi in Bihar, Justice Dwivedi pursued his education diligently. He graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in 1985. Later, in 1993, he was conferred with an L.L.B Degree from Ranchi University, marking the formal beginning of his legal journey.
Enrolling as an advocate on December 14, 1993, Justice Dwivedi began his practice at Patna High Court, Ranchi Bench, and continued in the Jharkhand High Court from November 15, 2000, after its establishment. During his time as an advocate, he handled a variety of cases, including Constitutional, Civil, Criminal, Service, and Arbitration matters.
He also served as a Standing Counsel for the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board, Ranchi, and Nagar Panchayat, Gumla. Additionally, he was engaged by prominent organizations such as the Reliance Group of Industries, Dabur India Limited, Godrej, and Unitech, showcasing his versatility and expertise in diverse legal areas.
Justice Dwivedi’s career culminated with his appointment as an Additional Judge of The High Court of Jharkhand on February 18, 2019. He was later appointed as a Permanent Judge on September 15, 2020, solidifying his role in the state’s judiciary.
