Born on March 3, 1956, Justice Agarwal graduated in Arts in 1978 from Allahabad University and obtained his Law degree from the same institution.
He enrolled as an advocate on December 9, 1981, and practiced in Civil Law, Constitutional Law, Taxation, Labour Law, Testamentary Law, and Corporate Affairs at the Allahabad High Court.
Justice Agarwal was elevated as an Additional Judge on January 7, 2004, at the Allahabad High Court and took oath as a Permanent Judge on August 18, 2005. He was transferred to the High Court of Uttarakhand on September 25, 2009, and served as Acting Chief Justice from September 25, 2009, to November 29, 2009. He was later transferred back to the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad on October 3, 2012.
