Hon'ble Shri Justice Vishal Mishra, born on 17th July 1974, has established himself as a respected figure in the legal landscape of Madhya Pradesh. His academic journey culminated in a B. Com. degree in 1997 and an LL.B from Maharani Laxmibai College, Gwalior, in 2000, both affiliated with Jiwaji University, Gwalior, M.P., where he graduated in first division.
Enrolling as an Advocate (M.P. 1983/ 2000) with the State Bar Council of M.P. at Jabalpur, he embarked on a distinguished legal career spanning 19 years. His practice encompassed a wide range of legal domains including Constitutional, Civil, Criminal, Claims, and Service Matters, across the High Court of M.P Gwalior Bench, District Court Claims Tribunal, Arbitration Tribunal Bhopal, Labour & Industrial court, and other subordinate Courts within the Gwalior Jurisdiction.
Justice Mishra has also served the State Government in various capacities. He worked as a Government Advocate for the State of M.P. in the High Court of M.P. Bench at Gwalior from 2009 to 2011 and later as Deputy Advocate General from 15th June 2015 to 30th July 2016. His commitment to public service led to his appointment as Additional Advocate General for the State of M.P. in the High Court of M.P. Bench at Gwalior on 30th July 2016, a position he held until 17th December 2018.
Furthermore, he has represented several institutions including the M.P. Pollution Control Board, M.P. Road Transport Corporation, Nagrik Sahkari Bank Maryadit Gwalior, and M.P. Housing Board.
Continuing a family legacy, Justice Mishra practiced in the office established by his father, the late Shri Justice Hargovind Mishra, over 60 years ago. The office was later succeeded by Justice Arun Mishra. Justice Vishal Mishra continued to work as an Advocate in the office until his elevation as a High Court Judge on 27th May, 2019.
