As per the case facts a batch of appeals stemmed from a Delhi High Court judgment that had previously directed the consideration of women officers for permanent commission Following this ... other petitions were filed seeking similar benefits The appeals reached the Supreme Court to address the implementation of these previous judgments and the entitlement to pensionary benefits The question arose whether these officers who had completed the minimum qualifying service should receive one-time pensionary benefits and whether arrears of pension should be paid from the date they completed twenty years of service Finally the Supreme Court ruled that the officers should be considered for one-time pensionary benefits based on completing the minimum qualifying service Their cases are to be evaluated using the HRP dated November Officers found eligible will not receive salary arrears but will be entitled to pension arrears from the date they are deemed to have completed twenty years of service
