Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ananda Chandra Behera

Mr. Justice Ananda Chandra Behera, a respected member of the Orissa High Court, was born on 23.05.1964, the youngest son of Late Gadadhar Behera and Late Sabitri Behera, in Gobindapur, Balasore. He completed his matriculation from Remuna High School, Balasore in 1980, followed by I.A. from Udala College, Mayurbhanj, and a graduation with Economics (Hons) from Fakir Mohan College, Balasore. In 1989, he obtained his L.L.B. from Utkal University, studying at Mayurbhanj Law College, and enrolled as an Advocate with the Odisha State Bar Council, Cuttack, in the same year.
He commenced his practice under the guidance of Shri Raghunath Pradhan, a renowned Advocate of Balasore, handling cases related to Civil, Criminal, Revenue, Consumer, and other branches of law. Known for his social work and popularity within his locality and the District Bar, Balasore, he served as Joint Secretary of the Balasore Bar Association and as a retainer for the Transport Corporation of India. His local community elected him as Sarpanch. His character and knowledge were recognized by members of the Bar in all the stations he served.
After fifteen years of practice at Balasore Bar Association, he joined as the Additional District and Sessions Judge of Cuttack. He has served in several stations in Odisha, including Champua, Keonjhar; Sundargarh; Rourkela; Bhubaneswar; Dharmagarh (Kalahandi); Berhampur; and Jagatsinghpur. He has also served as the Director of Public Prosecution of Odisha at Bhubaneswar and as Legal Advisor, State Vigilance Organization Odisha at Cuttack.
