A prominent legal mind, Justice B. Sudershan Reddy, born on July 8, 1946, was enrolled as an Advocate on December 27, 1971. Practicing in Writ and Civil matters, he served as a Government Pleader and Additional Standing Counsel for the Central Government. He also advised Osmania University. Appointed as a permanent Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on May 2, 1995, he later became Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court on 05.12.2005. His career advanced further with his appointment as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India on 12.01.2007, where he served until his retirement on 8.7.2011.
