Born on January 28, 1968, in Jodhpur, Justice Dinesh Mehta completed his schooling from Bal Niketan School Jodhpur and obtained a B.Com (Hons.) degree in 1988. He earned his Law degree from Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur, in 1992.
After enrolling with the Bar Council of Rajasthan in September 1992, he joined the chamber of his father, Sh. B.C. Mehta, Advocate. He advised and appeared for various corporate clients and other litigants in the High Court and other forums in matters relating to Taxation, Arbitration, Banking Laws, Company Laws, Electricity Laws, Environment Laws, Insurance Laws, Agrarian Laws, and Municipal Laws. He also handled cases involving Constitutional, Contractual Mining, Election, Civil Service, and Industrial disputes.
Justice Mehta served as counsel for Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., and was a Panel Lawyer for Oriental Insurance Company Limited, United India Insurance Company Limited, and Industries Development Bank of India (IDBI), as well as Indira Gandhi Nahar Pariyojna (IGNP) from 1999 to 2003. He also appeared for National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Hindustan Zinc Limited, Rajasthan Financial Corporation (RFC), and Security and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
He was elevated as a Judge of the Rajasthan High Court on November 16, 2016.
During his tenure, he served as the Chairman of the Steering Committee (Computer Committee), the Committee for publishing Souvenir on completion of 75 years of the establishment of the Rajasthan High Court, and the Executive Committee, Rajasthan State Judicial Academy. He was also a member of the General Council, National Law University Jodhpur, and various committees of the Rajasthan High Court, including the Administrative Committee.
Justice Mehta was transferred to the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi and took oath on October 28, 2025.
