A distinguished member of the Orissa High Court, Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad was born on July 20, 1964. His academic journey culminated in a Law Degree with Second Rank from Karnataka University, Dharwad, in 1989, following his Graduation in Science in 1986. He honed his skills as a debater and mooter during his college years.
Enrolling as an advocate in July 1989 with the Karnataka State Bar Council, Bangalore, Justice Dixit specialized in election, service, agrarian reforms, and banking law across the High Courts of Karnataka and Madras. His legal expertise led to appointments as Senior Standing Counsel for the Election Commission of India in 1999, Central Government Standing Counsel in 1999, and Assistant Solicitor General of India in 2014. He also served as Standing Counsel for several statutory bodies, including the UGC, CCI, TRAI, BARC, and more, until his elevation to the High Court of Karnataka in February 2018.
Beyond his legal practice, Justice Dixit contributed to legal education, associating with law colleges in Bangalore and writing articles on contemporary issues. He engaged in television debates and discussions on public importance topics and delivered public speeches.
During his tenure at the Karnataka High Court, Justice Dixit played a role in deciding cases on matters such as Hijab, Online Gaming, Twitter, Compulsory Medical Service, and more. He was sworn in as a Judge of Orissa High Court on May 12, 2025.
