Early Life and Education
Born on January 19, 1926, in District Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Justice Ojha completed his education at Daraganj High School, Allahabad, and K.P. Intermediate College, Allahabad. He earned his B.A. in 1943 and L.L.B. in 1945 from the University of Allahabad.
Legal Career
Justice Ojha practiced as a Pleader in the District Courts of Allahabad before enrolling as an Advocate of the Allahabad High Court on December 20, 1951. He conducted civil and constitutional cases in the Allahabad High Court.
Judicial Service
Appointed as an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court on September 3, 1971, he became a permanent Judge on December 12, 1972. He served as Acting Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court from August 18, 1986, to September 30, 1986. Subsequently, he was appointed Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on January 8, 1987, and also discharged the functions of Governor of Madhya Pradesh from December 1, 1987, to December 29, 1987. Justice Ojha was appointed Judge of the Supreme Court on January 18, 1988, and retired on January 18, 1991.
