JUSTICE SMT. VIBHA VASANT KANKANWADI
Born on June 24, 1964, in Bijapur, Karnataka, Justice Smt. Vibha Vasant Kankanwadi has an illustrious career in the judiciary. She completed her B.Com from People's College, Nanded, and L.L.B. from Ismailsaheb Mulla Law College, Satara, also holding a Diploma in Cyber Law from Asian Law School. She ranked fourth in Shivaji University in her first year of L.L.B.

Coming from a family of lawyers and judicial officers, she practiced civil and criminal law at Satara, Pune, & Bombay High Court Appellate Side from 1987 to 1992. She joined the judiciary on July 1, 1992, as C.J.J.D. & JMFC at Thane, and later worked in Kolhapur and Pune Cantonment. Promoted as Additional District & Sessions Judge on March 26, 2002, she served at Sangli, Jaysingpur, and Kolhapur. She also served as Joint Director at the Judicial Officers' Training Institute, Nagpur, and was deputed to the Maharashtra Judicial Academy at Uttan, Dist. Thane, where she trained over 300-350 judicial officers. She worked as District & Sessions Judge at Nagpur & Sangli and was promoted as Principal District & Sessions Judge in June 2013, serving at Wardha & Solapur. Elevated as Additional Judge of the High Court of Judicature at Bombay on June 5, 2017, her retirement is scheduled for June 23, 2026.
