Born on January 6, 1969, in Allahabad, Justice Varma pursued his B.Com (Honours) at Hansraj College, Delhi University, before earning his LLB degree from Rewa University, M.P.
Enrolling as an Advocate on August 8, 1992, he built a diverse practice at the Allahabad High Court, specializing in constitutional, labor, corporate, and taxation laws. His expertise led to his appointment as Special Counsel for the Allahabad High Court from 2006 and as Chief Standing Counsel for the State of U.P. from 2012 until August 2013, when he was designated as a Senior Advocate.
Justice Varma was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court on October 13, 2014, and became a Permanent Judge on February 1, 2016. He was then appointed as a Judge of the High Court of Delhi on October 11, 2021. Transferred back to Allahabad High Court and took oath on Apr 5, 2025.
