Hon'ble Shri Justice A. M. Khanwilkar
A distinguished jurist, Justice A. M. Khanwilkar, born on July 30, 1957, in Pune, made significant contributions to the Indian judiciary. He completed his B.Com. from Mulund College of Commerce, Mumbai, and LL.B. from K.C. Law College, Mumbai, before enrolling as an Advocate on February 10, 1982. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court on March 29, 2000, and confirmed as a permanent Judge on April 8, 2002. Justice Khanwilkar served as Chief Justice of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh starting April 4, 2013, and subsequently as Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court from November 24, 2013. His career reached its pinnacle with his elevation to Judge of the Supreme Court of India on May 13, 2016. He demitted office on July 29, 2022.
