In 2001, he was appointed as Additional District & Sessions Judge, Punjab, and served in various capacities including at Fatehgarh Sahib and as Special Judge, CBI, Punjab at Patiala. He also served as Presiding Officer, Industrial Tribunal, Ludhiana.
