A distinguished jurist, Justice Manmohan has significantly contributed to the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India. Born on December 17, 1962, in Delhi, he completed his schooling at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, and earned a B.A. (Hons.) in History from Hindu College, University of Delhi. He obtained his LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi, in 1987 and enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi that same year. Justice Manmohan primarily practiced in the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court, handling Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Taxation, Arbitration, Trademark, and Service litigation. He served as a Senior Panel Advocate for the Government of India in both courts. Designated as a Senior Advocate by the Delhi High Court on January 18, 2003, he managed various high-profile cases in his private practice. Justice Manmohan was appointed Additional Judge of the High Court of Delhi on March 13, 2008, and became a Permanent Judge on December 17, 2009. He served as Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court from November 9, 2023, and was appointed Chief Justice on September 29, 2024. He was elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India on December 5, 2024.
