Born on August 30, 1970, he studied at Calcutta Boys' School and passed LL.B. (5 Years Course) from Calcutta University in 1995. His commitment to the legal field is evident in his extensive experience and expertise.
Justice Bhattacharyya was enrolled as an Advocate on September 19, 1995, and was subsequently designated as Senior Advocate on June 2, 2014. He was empanelled as a Special Counsel for the Central Government of India since March 3, 2015. He practiced for 22 years mainly on the Appellate Side of the Calcutta High Court, specializing in Civil matters, and also appeared in Constitutional matters. Additionally, he acted as a Court-appointed Arbitrator in several matters.
His legal expertise and commitment led to his swearing-in as an Additional Judge of the High Court at Calcutta on September 21, 2017. He was later appointed as a Permanent Judge of the Calcutta High Court on September 16, 2019.
