Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad is a highly respected judge at the High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi, known for his extensive service and significant contributions to the judiciary.
Born on 20th June 1967, Mr. Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad holds an M.A. and an LL.B. degree.
He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand and took oath on 26.09.2014. Subsequently, he was transferred to the Orissa High Court, where he served as a Judge from 12-03-2015.
During his tenure at the Orissa High Court, he was nominated as a Member of various committees, including the Judicial Academy & Training, Computer Committee, e-Committee, Juvenile Justice Committee, and Building Committee. He also chaired the High Power Committee at Utkal University (Law faculty).
Upon repatriation from the Orissa High Court, he took oath as Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand on 22nd November 2018.
Justice Prasad also served as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jharkhand from 20.07.2024 to 24.09.2024 and again from 22.07.2025 until Shri Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan took oath as Chief Justice.
