Hon'ble Shri Justice Chandramauli Kumar Prasad
A distinguished figure in the Indian judiciary, Justice Chandramauli Kumar Prasad, born on July 15, 1949, in Patna, Bihar, has dedicated his career to upholding the law. He graduated in Science from Magadh University and later in Law from Patna University. Enrolling as an Advocate on November 27, 1973, he practiced Civil, Constitutional, Criminal, and Service matters at the Patna High Court, becoming a Senior Advocate on July 17, 1989. He served as Additional Advocate General of Bihar from December 14, 1993, until his elevation. Justice Prasad held various esteemed positions, including Vice-President of the English Speaking Union of Commonwealth and President of the Patna Golf Club. Elevated as a permanent Judge of the Patna High Court on November 8, 1994, he transferred to the High Court of Madhya Pradesh on November 21, 1994, before returning to the Patna High Court on September 10, 2001. He served as Acting Chief Justice of Patna High Court on multiple occasions before being appointed as Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court on March 20, 2009. His journey culminated with his elevation to Judge, Supreme Court of India, on February 8, 2010, retiring on July 14, 2014.
