Hon'ble Ms. Justice Lapita Banerji

A distinguished figure in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Lapita Banerji brings a wealth of international legal experience. Born on June 23, 1973, she completed her education at Ashok Hall Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Kolkata, and Calcutta International School before earning a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the University of Leeds in 1996.

Called to the bar of England and Wales by the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 1997, she enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of West Bengal in 1998. From 1998 to 2022, she engaged in independent practice, specializing in Civil, Constitutional, Company, Admiralty, and Family law, as well as Arbitration and Mediation, appearing primarily before the High Court at Calcutta and various tribunals.

Sworn in as an Additional Judge of the High Court at Calcutta on June 9, 2022, Justice Banerji was transferred to the High Court of Punjab and Haryana at Chandigarh, effective from November 8, 2023.
