Dr. Justice Arijit Pasayat, born on 10.5.1944, has had an illustrious legal career. Enrolling as an Advocate on 10.10.1968, he specialized in Taxation, Commercial, and Constitutional matters. His academic background includes completing Articleship in Chartered Accountancy. He was appointed as an Additional Judge in the Orissa High Court on 20.3.89, later becoming Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court on September 20, 1999, and then Chief Justice of Delhi High Court on 10th May, 2000. He was appointed as Judge of the Supreme Court of India on 19-10-2001, serving until his retirement on 10-05-2009.
