Born on March 7, 1967, into a Barrister's family, Justice Banerjee's legal journey began early, shaped by a lineage of legal professionals. He holds a B.Sc.(Cal), M.A.(Cantab), Bar-at-Law (Lincoln's Inn) degree, demonstrating a strong academic foundation.
Justice Banerjee was enrolled as an Advocate on May 30, 1991, and dedicated the next 22 years to practicing law, primarily in the High Court at Calcutta. His practice covered a broad spectrum of legal areas, including Company, Commercial, Property, Arbitration, Admiralty & Shipping, Labour, Service and Family laws, as well as Constitutional matters. He specialized in Company, Property, Arbitration, Admiralty & Shipping and Labour laws.
His commitment to the legal profession led to his elevation to the Bench of the High Court at Calcutta as an Additional Judge on October 30, 2013. His contributions to the court were further recognized with his appointment as a Permanent Judge of the Calcutta High Court on March 14, 2016.
