The Hon'ble Dr. Justice Ajoy Kumar Mukherjee

Dr. Justice Ajoy Kumar Mukherjee's career in the Calcutta High Court is distinguished by a blend of academic achievement and extensive judicial experience. Born on 08th January, 1965 in Hooghly District, West Bengal, he holds an LL.B from Hooghly Mohsin College, an LL.M from the University of Burdwan, and a Ph.D (Law) in Criminology from the University of Calcutta. He joined as Munsiff on 10.09.1996 after succeeding in the W.B.C.S (Judicial) Examination in 1995 and was promoted as Assistant Sessions Judge cum Civil Judge (Senior Division) on 28.06.2004. In 2010, he was elevated to the rank of District Judge (Entry Level). Notable positions held include Judge (XIIth Bench), City Civil Court, Calcutta; Additional Director, West Bengal Judicial Academy; District and Sessions Judge, Andaman and Nicobar Islands; Registrar, Inspection - II, High Court, Calcutta; and Chairman, West Bengal Co-operative Tribunal. He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court at Calcutta on 18.11.2021 and appointed as Permanent Judge on August 01, 2023.
