A distinguished Justice of the Supreme Court of India, Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia brings a wealth of experience from his tenure as Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court and Judge of the Uttarakhand High Court.
Born on August 10, 1960, Justice Dhulia received his early education in Dehradun, Allahabad, and Lucknow. He graduated in 1981, completed his Masters in Modern History in 1983, and obtained his LL.B. in 1986.
Justice Dhulia initially practiced on the Civil and Constitutional side before the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad. He later shifted his practice to the newly created High Court of Uttarakhand at Nainital. In June 2004, he was designated as a Senior Advocate.
Justice Dhulia was elevated as a permanent Judge of the Uttarakhand High Court on November 1, 2008. He then took oath as the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court on January 10, 2021. Elevated as Judge of the Supreme Court, he assumed charge on May 9, 2022.
